Walking is so UNDERrated

Now that the gym is back open, many of us have abandoned our long walks, runs, bike rides, etc to opt back in for the weights, HIIT workouts, and classes. However, it might not be such a good idea to write off those activities all together. 

Studies have shown that long walks can improve circulation, support your joints, improve sleep, and even aid in weight loss.  Additionally, researchers at the American Heart Association have found that walking aids in the reductions in risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease! “Walking improves fitness, cardiac health, alleviates depression and fatigue, improves mood, creates less stress on joints and reduces pain, can prevent weight gain, reduce risk for cancer and chronic disease, improve endurance, circulation, and posture, and the list goes on…” says Anne Green M.S., past heptathlon world athlete, yoga teacher and fitness studio owner. 

So now that we’ve given you many a reason to either start walking or get back to it, here are some great places to take a long walk in the greater South Bay area:
