Holiday Momentum

Why break a great habit you’ve already created? Well because you’re stressed with family obligations, you’ve been cooking for days, the kids aren’t in school, and 5 of your guests decided to become vegan the week of Thanksgiving. Not to mention your youngest decided to hand-print a turkey on your living room wall.

We can come up with endless excuses as to why we don’t have the time or energy to take care of ourselves. However the most important thing, especially during the holidays, is to make sure that you’re taken care of before anyone else. Creating these habits now will make it that much easier to continue them into the new year. Waiting to create new better habits only strengthens the current bad ones given you’re giving them more time and opportunity to grow stronger. Why not make small positive changes now that will grow stronger as you enter the new year?

There has been a lot of talk surrounding the term “balance” here at Body One. Members want to create a sense of balance in their lives juggling work, taking care of their health/well being, being present in their lives in order to enjoy it, and still catering to those around them. As the discussion continues, most agree the best way to go about this is to take things one day at a time, workout at least 3 times/week, eat well, drink lots of water, and get enough rest. Creating these good habits will create space to excel in other areas of your life. Don’t let the minutiae of the holiday stress defer you from your goals!

Here are a few quotes to motivate you to start/continue your fitness and health/wellness journey;

“Change might not be fast and it isn't always easy. But with time and effort, almost any habit can be reshaped.”

Charles Duhigg, The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business

“Typically, people who exercise start eating better and becoming more productive at work. They smoke less and show more patience with colleagues and family. They use their credit cards less frequently and say they feel less stressed. Exercise is a keystone habit that triggers widespread change.”

Charles Duhigg, The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business

Hope to see you here at Body One Fitness getting after it during the holidays!
