Get Back Into It
So now that Body One is open again, all of our members are rushing back in the door to get after their workout with us! We love seeing the excitement and the eagerness to push the weights and get back to the way things were! Everyone has been working out at home with the space and equipment they have but not everyone has had the opportunity to use a full set of weights or a barbell. So that being said, coming back into the gym and expecting to pick up where you left off may not be the best idea. It's not to say that you aren’t as strong or as capable because we know you’ve still been crushing it at home. We just want you to remember to be kind to your body when picking up that 60lb dumbbell or adding an extra 25lbs on each side of that barbell.
Here are some ways to ease back into your routine:
Don't overdo it right away and figure out what's right for YOU
Try pushing the weights 2-3 times per week and the rest of the days go lighter till you get back to where you were.
Drink lots of water
This is just something to remember always.
Remember to warm up and cool down properly
Luckily we always start our workouts at Body One with a proper warm up.
Take rest days
This can be an active rest as well such as a light walk on the beach or a stretch session.
Set minor goals for each week to get yourself back up to speed
For example: Take 2-3 HiVolume classes and 1-2 Mobility classes for the first couple weeks back and then start to increase from there.
Get proper sleep
8 HOURS MINIMUM!
Don’t change everything all at once
You’ve had a certain routine for the past 3 months. Now that things are starting to open such as restaurants, offices, gyms, parks, etc. it's easy to fall into the trap of trying to implement EVERYTHING at once. Take one thing at a time!
See you at Body One!!
